Job Description The Unix Administrator provides hands-on day-to-day technical support for business critical Solaris and Linux production and development systems. The scope of this position currently includes support for over 50 UNIX servers and 100 Terabytes of storage, most of which are global in reach and mission critical. Is responsible for administration, uptime, performance, security and troubleshooting. Participates in âOn Callâ schedule.
Desired Profile Three or more years of experience in Unix required (Sun Solaris preferred) in a complex, large volume operation.
Good understanding of TCP/IP and network technologies such as firewalls, switches, routers, load balancers, proxies, cache servers, etc.
Proficient with large multi-domain Sun Enterprise systems (i.e. e25K, e15K, e12K, e10K)
Experience with Network Appliance network attached storage experience a plus. Familiarity with NFS, NDMP, NAS, I-SCSI, Snaps and Mirrors helpful.
Experience with VERITAS Netbackup preferred, but other backup software experience helpful.
