Job Description

Responsibilities:

* Work as part of the team of architects to drive a major product development initiative

* Start with a very high level requirements and work continuously towards solutions

* Work with development team to build the application in incremental model* Expected to be hands-on on the development floor. Stay closely connected and participate in what is being thought out and what is being built.

* Reviews requirements documents (if any) and/or specifications including business rules, edits, and database specifics for applications with team leads prior to implementation.

* Review designs, code, test cases and ensure that everything is in accordance with coding standards, team best practices and ADP UI specifications.

* Provide technical support for the resolution of customer issues by performing analysis to determine root cause.

* Maintain previous versions of the product with client prioritized bug fixes.

* Perform other related duties, as assigned. This would include tasks such as documentation reviews, testing, training and support to other development departments.

Desired Profile

Required Skills:

* 7 – 10 years of experience in product development experience of an enterprise level application involving huge data, voluminous transactions and disparate technologies

* Experience building Java Server-based applications and/or Java Applets.

* Strong Structured Query Language (SQL) skills.

* Thorough understanding of database table relationships

* Ability to read C/C++ programs.

* Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

* Able to complete assignments that are defined in general terms.

Strong Plus:

* Experience with IBM MQ.

* Experience with Solaris operating systems.

* Experience with SQL Server and/or Oracle.

* Experience with Eclipse plug-in development.

* Experience with Human Resources, Benefits, or Payroll applications.

* Experience with DOJO, Java Server Faces

* Experience with any one of the ERP suites like SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft

* Experience in any one or more of the case tools, design tools and ER mapping tools. Experience of UML.

* Experience of working in an iterative development models (Agile/XP/Scrum etc)

Generic Skills:

* Team oriented, open-minded, willing to listen to other’s ideas and able to work well with others.

* Competent to work with minimal supervision after tasks have been assigned.

* Ability to document code changes in language understandable by less technical associates in other departments (training, sales, etc.)

* Adaptability to changing project and BU priorities. Able to work scheduled hours and overtime when needed.

* Good communication skills (both verbal and written) are a strong plus.
