Description JOB PURPOSE:
The FX Operations (a) Confirmations (b) Settlements and (c) Reconciliation (Investigation) processes require processing within Currency (CCY) deadlines which are time-sensitive. The Manager will be responsible for the accurate confirmation of the trades minimizing risks to the Bank. He/ she will also be responsible for the timely settling of the trades thereby minimizing financial and reputational risks of non-settlement. The Reconciliation process is high volume process which requires all items to be matched within agreed timelines minimizing risks of unapplied amounts.
Coupled with this, the individual will need to demonstrate ability to work collaboratively, regardless of team or functional boundaries to achieve shared goals.
The Individual will need to be highly motivated and target oriented, coupled with the ability to step back and see the bigger picture when managing risk. They will need to be highly pro-active with excellent time management skills in a deadline driven environment. They will need to be able to communicate persuasively and be able to successfully gain buy in from all respective stakeholders, both internal and external as required in driving forward process change. Integral to the role will be managing intra-day and end-of-day controls, weekly risk reporting, and ensuing appropriate escalation of issues accordingly.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process Deliverables: Management and control of designated processes
- Meeting defined SLAs and where necessary to be able to identify and define the same
- Provision of a quality service to internal and external clients
- Team Management: includes managing day-to-day administrative tasks; Training and Cross Training, Resource Utilisation, Minimizing Attrition
- Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively regardless of team or functional boundaries to achieve shared goals
- Undertaking appropriate training to meet personal development requirements
- Process Improvement – Identifying process inefficiencies, and driving through process change whereby business justification is in place
- Ensuring procedures on the desk are documented and updated periodically
- Relationship Management: Management of “upstream” issues with respect to integrity of booking process in risk management systems, liaison with stakeholders and other support groups e.g. IT with respect to issues ongoing
- Liaising with colleagues globally and leveraging of workflow globally as appropriate – e.g. Handover, Follow-the Sun,
- Building relationships with external clients & relevant internal groups – There is also ongoing interaction with a broad number of groups e.g. Front Office, Trade Control & Maintenance, Confirmations, other Settlement product areas etc. .
-Active participation at team meetings and willingness to take ownership of issues
-Face-off with Operations and IT stakeholders as appropriate,
-Developing an understanding of Transaction Processing Risk and ensuring compliance with all TPRA/Audit/Regulatory requirements
-Regular updates to management.
