Scope
Design and develop new methodologies that enhance existing or new products and services. Internally, work with various departments to grow new ideas and expand the scope of existing products. Externally, continue to build the company brand by maintaining strong relationships with financial press and fund clients while also focusing on growing new relationships, by adding value and commentary to company data.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the generation, testing, completion and timely delivery of new revenue-enhancing products and services including developing methodologies, calculation and testing procedures, as well as working closely with clients and client managers throughout the process of development
* Work with sales and product managers to enhance the merit value of current goods by researching and directing efforts to develop and implement value-added data to products
* Extend company brand within the investment community through public speaking, by representing the company to the media and writing and publishing industry specific research
* Attend ad-hoc research requests from internal and external sources
* Work within the company to grow and maintain employee knowledge of company products and the financial industry in general and additionally to train departments on the construction and use of ongoing research products
Qualifications
* BA in Finance, Statistics, Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics or related fields
* Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, or related discipline is helpful
* CFA or progress toward CFA is helpful
* 3-6 years experience in mutual fund industry as an analyst
* Must exhibit a proven ability to create and implement new ideas
* Some prior experience with presentations to small to medium size groups is essential and some prior media experience is helpful
* Ability to explain in-depth analysis to the uniformed in an interesting, accessible manner is required
* Strong ability to synthesize information from various disciplines is essential
* Keen knowledge of Lipper data, products and services
* Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
