knowledge:- knowing job control tasks needed to enter jobs into the operating system
- familiarity with system resources needed to run jobs
- familiarity with system control techniques for job processing efficiency
B. Data Center Operations knowledge / experience:
- familiarity with IBM and other MVS/XA-vendor Data Admin Utilities, such as: IEBCOPY, IEBGENER, IDCAMS, etc…
- familiarity with batch Scheduling product(s), preferably Zeke
- other MVS product skills desired: TSO; ISPF; SDSF;CA-1 or TMS (Tape Management System);File-Aid;PDSMAN; NDM (aka: ConnectDirect); FTP (or other File Transfer Protocol product); $AVRS (known as SAVERS) or
other output archival product(s); CICS; CAFC (CICS Application File Control)or
other CICS File Control tool; CLIST and/or Rexx command languageC.
Tech Support skills:-
- job Restart/Rerun know-how
- Ability to investigate job failures to determine cause(s) and resolve system-related and/or environmental-related failures/abends
D. Change Control skills:
- knowledge with ChangeMan is preferred, but Endevor or other Change Management software skills a plus
