Junior Oracle DBA
This is a unique opportunity for junior Oracle DBAs to enhance and apply their database administration proficiency. Work alongside a team of cutting-edge Oracle DBA experts to manage world-wide enterprise-class servers.
POSITION : Oracle DBA
Location: Bangalore, International Technology Park
Type of Recruitment: Permanent
QUALIFICATION :
Engineers from prestigious Institutes, working in top-notch Companies. Three years of relevant experience is required. The candidate should be proactive and willing to learn. Candidates
should be prepared for level 2/3 DBA tasks.
Responsibilities:
* Installation, configuration and upgrading of Oracle server software and related products
* Correct and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures
* Implement and maintain database security
* Perform database monitoring
* Work as part of a team and provide 7×24 support when required
* Perform general technical trouble shooting (Trouble ticket handling)
* Interface with Oracle Corporation for technical support.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
* 3 yrs experience in Oracle 8i/9i/10g
* experience monitoring and maintaining production OLTP
* advanced knowledge of SQL
* Basic understanding of Relational Database Management Systems
* experience with 24×7 operational database
* comfortable with Solaris and Linux
* conversant in shell/Perl scripting is a plus
* experience using RMAN
* experience in a team environment
* comfortable dealing directly with managers and clients
* add to these, soft skills like (drive, proactive and willing to learn…)
Nonessential skills:
* Familiarity with the Windows NT family of operating systems.
* MySQL, PostgreSQL, DB2, SQL Server, Sybase experience.
* Shell scripting, Perl scripting
* Oracle certifications: Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
* Experience in a managed service provider (MSP)
* Experience working with off-site colleagues
