Senior DB2 DBA for IPSoft, the fastest growing MSP in the US DB2 Universal Database Server (v 8.1 with fixpack 10 preferably) AIX/Linux system experience.Certification in DB2 DBA is a plus
Desired Candidate Profile
Senior DB2 DBA:
Experience : 3+ years of core DB2 Database Administration
experience Level : Senior
Domain/Industry : Any domain/industry with wider scope for core/advancedDB2 DBA work Required Skills: - ability to manage multiple DB2 instances involving huge databases - in an OLTP environment - on AIX, Linux, Solaris etc.
- troubleshooting DB2 related issues
- Recovery - create a backup/restore policy
- backup, restore, archive logging - High Availability - standby database creation
- Setting up HADR
- Federated Databases
- set up DB2 federation across multi vendor databases and different DB2 instances
- replication
- set up replication of databases
- bulk data movement
- db2 load (with various options) to import huge amount of data into tables
- export data into various formats - Performance Tuning - tune the database for high volume, query intensive applications
- improve/optimize the transaction response time
- Monitoring
- implement monitoring for various database events, components etc
- writing shell scripts to implement alerts for these monitors -
Excellent interpersonal skills & team leadership
- reporting & documenting skills
- exposure to quality improvement/assurance methodologies
